Collaboration to Change a Community

Magic happens when you meet someone whose vision and work ethic align seamlessly with your own. Big things are happening and Traction Pain Relief & Wellness is GROWING!

Back in April I sat down with Chelsea Greenwood, owner of CrossFit Buckroe Beach in Hampton, Virginia. You can read the interview HERE. That one hour conversation opened the doors to a fast growing relationship between two people who have a drive and a passion for helping others live their best life without medications and surgeries while bringing positive change to our community.

Here are just a few of the success stories I have had the absolute pleasure of being a part of in the past 3 months. Stories like these light my soul on fire. If they excite you and you want to learn more then keep reading!

As of August 1st Traction Pain Relief & Wellness will be offering office hours at CrossFit Buckroe Beach. This location will allow me to expand my reach to help more people live their best, pain free life. Don't worry, I will still have the option for mobile PT services where I come to your home. One of my biggest goals as a health care provider is to break down the barriers between you and the life you love.

To kick off our new collaboration CrossFit Buckroe Beach will be having a Friends & Family Day August 14th and 15th. All classes are open to the public at no charge. If you want to find out what CrossFit is all about (HINT: It's not just picking up heavy things and putting them down) this is your chance! Chelsea and I have a goal to help others have the best quality of life they can regardless of age, gender or past injuries and experiences.

As part of Friends & Family Day, Traction Pain Relief & Wellness will be hosting an Open House where you and your friends and family can come chat with me and get a Total Body Diagnostic Consultation for FREE. The Total Body Diagnostic is a chance for you to talk to a trained movement expert about any issues or pains you are having and the goals you want to achieve. It also includes a head-to-toe movement assessment where we can start to pinpoint exactly where your problems are originating and give you a clear path to achieving your goals. These consults will be on a first come, first serve basis - keep an eye out for a sign-up link.

I will also have copies of my 2 books "5 Easy Ways to Live with Less Knee Pain" and "The 7 Secrets to Heal Your Back and Stay Pain Free". If you don't want to wait to get your hands on this information and would like the free e-book version now you can download them at the links below

Good Feet Store vs. Dr. Scholls

As a physical therapist I frequently have patients ask me if an orthotic is the answer to their foot pain. Recently, a patient came to me after a visit to the “Good Feet Store” where she was in search of a solution to her nagging foot pain that has negatively impacted her ability to go for walks around the neighborhood with her husband. She was excited as the salesperson at the store explained how their system of arch support would help "stretch and strengthen her feet". However, she was very disappointed at the price tag of such a solution. So she came to me seeking an alternative. Is an arch support the solution? To that I say “maybe”, but there are many other factors to consider. In 2014 the American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA) found the majority of Americans (77 percent) say they have experienced foot pain. Foot pain can have a profound impact on quality of life. Half of all adults say that foot pain has restricted their activities—like walking, exercising...

Feeling Overwhelmed?

Welcome to my "dump room"  😳  Go ahead, judge...now keep reading. This room used to be my home office. When I opened my Downtown Hampton clinic location in January it morphed into the "dump rom" - the room where everything gets dumped if I don't want to deal with it in the moment, but it's in the way.  The door to this room stays CLOSED! Over the past few months I would open it from time to time intending to take care of it, but the overwhelm of it all called the door shut again.  This morning I set my timer and I chunked it down. Voila! The thing that has overwhelmed me for 3+ months is now a source of joy in a matter of 60 minutes  🤯 What does your overwhelm look like? Maybe it's not a room in your house. Maybe it's the food in your pantry/fridge. Maybe it's the vision you see in the mirror. Maybe it's the lies and stories you fill your heart and head with.  I want to share with you some tactical advise for tackling the overwhel...
