It's been a while since I've put out a new post. A LOT has happened in my personal life and in the life of Traction Pain Relief & Wellness. Keep on the lookout for some super exciting news and information that will be announced soon! You may or may not already know, but I got married on May 11th! I am officially a Kennedy! The last 2 months have been a whirlwind of excitement, change and adjustment. Now, if you've ever in any way been part of a wedding you know that it NEVER goes exactly according to plan. I was warned about this very early on in the wedding planning process. I was also given a valuable piece of advice that got me through the last minute changes and what could have been very stressful decisions in our wedding planning process. Read to the end to find out what this valuable piece of advice was and how it can help you!
Let me give you a little insider peek. Just 13 days before our wedding date we found out that our chosen venue had been DOUBLE BOOKED. Yes, you heard me right. There was an unfortunate circumstance of miscommunication, and I (and my now husband) had a choice to make.
Fortunately, within 48 hours of the news, we were able to change our venue at the last minute with minimal financial burden and distress. However, that wasn't the end of the last minute decisions we had to make. The day of our wedding started out bright and sunny, but quickly turned dark and rainy (with thunder and lightning included).
Our outdoor wedding was now under attack by the weather and we had another decision to make....stick with the plan, risk the disaster, and hope our guests understood. Or quickly adjust to moving the ceremony to the inside reception hall. We chose to take the risk and stick with outdoors - thankfully there was a 30 minute gap in the storm and I got the outdoor wedding I had planned for!
Now, how did we make these decisions and most importantly how does this relate to you and living your best [pain free] life?!
We chose early on to put people on our "wedding team" that we trusted 100% to help us make the best decisions when the emotion of it got to be too much. Without these people I'm sure May 11, 2019 wouldn't have been the most perfect day that it was. I needed them in my corner. I needed them to help me see the big picture when my stressed out tunnel vision had me wanting to crawl in bed and cry.
We ALL need those people in our lives in different areas. When it comes to your health and your body you need a team of people who can see the WHOLE picture. This team may be comprised of a variety of people including your primary care physician, a nutritionist, a counselor, etc.
When it comes to the way your body moves and performs you need a MOVEMENT EXPERT on your team. This will allow you to live your best life playing golf on the weekends or picking up your kids or whatever it is that brings you joy without worrying if your body is going to fail you.
If you don't have someone like this on your health team yet, I would LOVE to talk to you. It doesn't always mean you need to work with me 1:1, but it WILL give you a contact person if you ever have any questions or concerns.
