How My Best Wedding Advice Can Help You Live Your Best [and pain free] Life

It's been a while since I've put out a new post. A LOT has happened in my personal life and in the life of Traction Pain Relief & Wellness. Keep on the lookout for some super exciting news and information that will be announced soon!

You may or may not already know, but I got married on May 11th! I am officially a Kennedy! The last 2 months have been a whirlwind of excitement, change and adjustment. Now, if you've ever in any way been part of a wedding you know that it NEVER goes exactly according to plan. I was warned about this very early on in the wedding planning process. I was also given a valuable piece of advice that got me through the last minute changes and what could have been very stressful decisions in our wedding planning process. Read to the end to find out what this valuable piece of advice was and how it can help you!

Let me give you a little insider peek. Just 13 days before our wedding date we found out that our chosen venue had been DOUBLE BOOKED. Yes, you heard me right. There was an unfortunate circumstance of miscommunication, and I (and my now husband) had a choice to make.

Fortunately, within 48 hours of the news, we were able to change our venue at the last minute with minimal financial burden and distress. However, that wasn't the end of the last minute decisions we had to make. The day of our wedding started out bright and sunny, but quickly turned dark and rainy (with thunder and lightning included).

Our outdoor wedding was now under attack by the weather and we had another decision to make....stick with the plan, risk the disaster, and hope our guests understood. Or quickly adjust to moving the ceremony to the inside reception hall. We chose to take the risk and stick with outdoors - thankfully there was a 30 minute gap in the storm and I got the outdoor wedding I had planned for!

Now, how did we make these decisions and most importantly how does this relate to you and living your best [pain free] life?!

We chose early on to put people on our "wedding team" that we trusted 100% to help us make the best decisions when the emotion of it got to be too much. Without these people I'm sure May 11, 2019 wouldn't have been the most perfect day that it was. I needed them in my corner. I needed them to help me see the big picture when my stressed out tunnel vision had me wanting to crawl in bed and cry.

We ALL need those people in our lives in different areas. When it comes to your health and your body you need a team of people who can see the WHOLE picture. This team may be comprised of a variety of people including your primary care physician, a nutritionist, a counselor, etc.

When it comes to the way your body moves and performs you need a MOVEMENT EXPERT on your team. This will allow you to live your best life playing golf on the weekends or picking up your kids or whatever it is that brings you joy without worrying if your body is going to fail you.

If you don't have someone like this on your health team yet, I would LOVE to talk to you. It doesn't always mean you need to work with me 1:1, but it WILL give you a contact person if you ever have any questions or concerns. Feeling Overwhelmed?

Welcome to my "dump room"  😳  Go ahead, judge...now keep reading. This room used to be my home office. When I opened my Downtown Hampton clinic location in January it morphed into the "dump rom" - the room where everything gets dumped if I don't want to deal with it in the moment, but it's in the way.  The door to this room stays CLOSED! Over the past few months I would open it from time to time intending to take care of it, but the overwhelm of it all called the door shut again.  This morning I set my timer and I chunked it down. Voila! The thing that has overwhelmed me for 3+ months is now a source of joy in a matter of 60 minutes  🤯 What does your overwhelm look like? Maybe it's not a room in your house. Maybe it's the food in your pantry/fridge. Maybe it's the vision you see in the mirror. Maybe it's the lies and stories you fill your heart and head with.  I want to share with you some tactical advise for tackling the overwhel...

5 Tips to Keeping Food Healthy & Fun

There is often a misconception that “healthy” food doesn’t taste good/is boring and honestly, that misconception is probably based on some truly terrible food experiences that carry the term “health food”.  I’m here to tell you though, there is absolutely no reason why your fruits, vegetables, lower carb, lower fat, higher protein, higher fiber, etc. food shouldn’t taste just as amazing as all the other food choices out there.  Because let's be real for a minute, if it doesn’t taste good who the heck is going to choose to eat it more than once or twice? I’m going to share a few of my tips and tricks for how to keep your foods tasting 100% edible for all members of your family without breaking your budget or adding tons of extra calories to your meal. Hot Sauce is king. Y’all, it can be added to eggs, meat, and vegetables for so much added flavor!  It can be added before, during, or after cooking and guess what, there are so many dang hot sauce options out there that they...
